Making brick walls is a tedious process. I’ve tried knives and rollers but was never happy with the result, so I decided to design a press of my own.
This plastic press will transform an entire sheet of styrofoam into a brick wall in minutes. Apply a good amount of pressure to the back of the press, and the brick pattern will transfer to the styrofoam.
The bricks are designed for 1:12 scale diorama, but they would also look just fine on a 1:10 display.
“There oughtta be a law against carving an entire brick wall by hand.”
After using the brick wall press, sponge paint a few shades of reds and browns and you have an old brick wall — super easy and fun! You could go in and distress certain bricks or add some white mortar lines, to add even more realism, but the above photo shows how great the wall looks with barely any effort.
This brick wall press is currently for sale on eBay. (As an eBay Partner, I may be compensated if you make a purchase.)
